St. Peterburg frequently is called „west capital city”of Russia.

The Admirality region of St. Peterburg is only 10 years old. However already in 1737 city was dividend in administrativ unities where one of the parts got name „Admirality”. Foundation-stone of this part of city is put in 1704.

A big part of theritory in region is in historical centre of St. Peterburg between the Big Neva and Fountain. Part of the area between the fountain and plan to by-pass channel created 18th Century in the second half.

In 1828 craftsman school was made, who 1831st was converted into a technological institute.

In 19th century „The building of Admirality” is built. Region becomes one of the largest industrial areas in the city. 10% of industrial products of St. Peterburg is made in Admirality region.

On 27th of May 2003 St. Peterburg celebrated 300 year anniversary.
