Concert hall is one of the most significant cultural monuments, and it offers a wide program of culture performed by local and foreign artists.
Variety show and small orchestra performances took place here already in 1897, when a stage was built in Edinburgh (Dzintari was called Edinburgh till 1922) in the honour of wedding of the Alexander’s II daughter and Albert, the Duke of Edinburgh. Later famous orchestras from Petersburg, Warsaw, Latvia and Berlin gave concerts here. In 1936 the building of a concert hall with 690 seats was opened in the new Dzintari concert garden. The author of the project was V.Mellenberg. Built in 1960, the open-air stage is a famous place for concerting. In 1960 a summer concert hall with 2000 seats was built. The design of metal construction together with the wooden cladding provides perfect acoustics. Specialists have evaluated this place as a unique and in the matters of acoustics as one of the best in the entire Europe.
From 2004 to 2006 a reconstruction of concert hall was was done – a park was enlarged, the stage and hall - renovated, but the territory - facilitated. A lot of popular musicians have performed here – G.Ginsburg, S.Richter, L.Kogan, D.Ostreich, Rastropovich, Patricia Kaas, Candy Dulpher, Kremerata Baltica, Bremen Annual jazz and classic music festivals, international humour festival “Jūrmala”, humour show “Singing KiViN”, magnificent ballet festival “Ballet Stars in Jūrmala”, new singers’ festival “New Wave” and international classical music festival “Summertime” have became a tradition of Jūrmala and Dzintari concert hall. Symphony Orchestra, and Latvian National Symphonic Orchestra.
